Here We Are

Reading is a cornerstone of education and reading regularly with children is one of the best ways for them to learn . It’s become more and more common to read things on screen, but there are some books that just need to be held and read from the printed page. So here’s to all the authors producing print media that deserves to be read in print.

Here we are, by Oliver Jeffers, is one such book. A collection of ‘notes for living on planet Earth’ compiled for the author’s newborn son.

The illustrations are wonderful. It really is the sort of book you can talk through over and over again…

As well as being filled with awesome drawings, it’s also filled with lovely words and the message this book portrays is one we should all strive to follow.

Some things about our planet are pretty complicated, but things can be simple too: there are lots of us on here, so be kind.
